This producer produces many wines including those made from the Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Meunier – Pinot Noir grape varieties.<\/p>\n

Tasting:<\/strong>
\nThe colour is pale pink, the nose develops notes of red fruits. The palate is ample with a fresh and tannic finish.<\/p>\n

Terroir:<\/strong> sandy-gravelly on a sandy-clay subsoil
\nAverage age of the vines:<\/strong> 35 years
\nAverage yield:<\/strong> 40 hl\/ha
\nPlanting density:<\/strong> 4,000 to 6,000 vines\/ha<\/p>\n

Culture:<\/strong>
\nThe vineyard is managed in sustainable farming. The vines are grassed and pruned short. Every year, we carry out a meticulous disbudding with the removal of double buds to offer the main bud maximum aeration and light. We also carry out a green harvest if necessary.<\/p>\n

Winemaking:<\/strong>
\nThe juice is obtained by bleeding for Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and by direct pneumatic pressing for Pinot Gris. This is followed by a 48-hour cold static settling and then alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 18 \u00b0C. The ageing is finally done on lees until bottling at the property.<\/p>\n

The History of Clos Saint-Fiacre<\/strong>
\nThe Montigny-Piel family has been perpetuating the winemaking tradition of Clos Saint-Fiacre in Mareau-aux-Pr\u00e9s for several generations. The family has been cultivating vines there since 1635 on the best terroirs of the Orl\u00e9ans and Orl\u00e9ans-Cl\u00e9ry appellations of controlled origin (AOC<\/a>).
\nB\u00e9n\u00e9dicte and Hubert Piel took over the family estate in 2001, following in the footsteps of Daniel Montigny who worked for 25 years at the head of the wine syndicate to obtain the Orl\u00e9ans and Orl\u00e9ans-Cl\u00e9ry appellations.
