COTEAUX DU LAYON “Clos de la Bergerie” 2022
19,50 € incl. VAT
The Domaine de la Bergerie is located in the heart of Anjou Noir. The region is so named because of its dark soils, mostly composed of a schist basement. There is also sandstone, puddingstones, clay… and many other geological nuances. The 27 hectares that make up our vineyard will therefore benefit and be enriched by this diversity. They are also exposed to a certain mildness of oceanic influence. This unique terroir allows you to explore all the facets of the estate’s grape varieties, such as Chenin, Cabernet Franc, or Pineau d’Aunis. In order to preserve and enhance the soils and the diversity of the place, the estate has been certified in organic farming since 2016.Thus, on these lands, the history of the Guégniard family has been written for several generations…

TASTING NOTES
The advantage of the “Clos de la bergerie”, compared to our other sweet wines, is to preserve freshness and tension. In addition, this cuvée reflects its vintage well. Like a year marked by episodes of heat, the wine has a lot of suppleness and roundness, and some notes of pears are revealed on the nose.
Its balance allows for bold pairings, such as a chicken tagine with candied lemon. For more sweetness, it can also be paired with a Savoy cake with yuzu.
The trick is to remember to put a little touch of acidity in the dish to highlight the richness of the wine.
OUR ADVICE
We recommend a serving temperature between 10°C and 12°C with possible decanting. It can be tasted now, or in the next ten to fifteen years.
