Located in the heart of the Saumur vineyards, our estate, managed by Marc and Etienne Rideau, is located in TURQUANT, a village of winegrowers, charm and crafts; but also in the heart of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Marc Rideau took over his grandfather’s vineyards in 1985, then another estate in 1993 and expanded the vineyard: 12 hectares spread over four communes, Montsoreau, Parnay, Souzay, Champigny and Turquant. His son Étienne joined him in 2015

Description

VINES:

Municipality: TURQUANT

Location: plateau, clay-limestone soil

Grape variety: 100% Cabernet Franc

Age: 15+ years old

Driving mode: Integrated pest control is practiced in order to respect the environment; Guyot Val de Loire pruning, grass cover and cultivation alternating between rows in order to control vigour; stripping.

Yield 50-55 hl/ha

HARVEST: fully ripe, mechanical

VINIFICATION: Harvest entirely destemmed, vatting 15-21 days; malolactic fermentation; racking and then filtration on land in February/March.

MATURATION: In vats and bottled by us. The vinification, ageing and storage take place entirely in a troglodyte cellar dug into the tufa with an almost constant temperature of 10-12°C.

TASTING : The ageing and blending of our most tannic wines form this cuvée. The result is a red wine with a fruity nose and a discreet attack, but a tannin finish.

Food & wine pairing

Serve slightly chilled at 12-14° as an aperitif, with fish, cold cuts and roasted white meats. This cuvée with low ageing (2-3 years) is to be appreciated for its freshness Aperitif of a festive meal / cooked scallops / hot or cold lobster / noble sea or river fish / braised white meat such as a veal casi à l’Angevine
