Description
This red wine comes from the Abouriou grape variety. Originally from the South-West, it is little known: it has nevertheless caught the attention of several Nantes winegrowers: it is generous and lends itself to the production of red wines with a strong character.
Terroir: Slopes facing south-west
Sandy soil on mica schists
A precious terroir … We owe the character of our wines to the terroir of the estate. It is mainly made up of small hillsides facing south or south-west. It consists of sandy-silty soils installed on mica schists.
The plot is managed in a bilateral cordon. This is how we tame this grape variety so that it reaches a beautiful maturity, especially phenolic. The latter is also favoured by the practice of green operations which improve the exposure of the bunches to the sun
. The precisely controlled harvesting machine allows the ripe berries to be collected quickly.
The vinification takes place without sulfiting. A traditional maceration of at least 7 days extracts the dark sarobe colour and relatively silky tannins.
This red wine has a dark colour with purple reflections. It asserts its personality with its power and aromatic richness ranging from black and red fruits to chocolate and spicy notes. On the palate, it combines freshness and tannins that are well present following an ageing in barrels for 3 to 7 months. It will appeal to lovers of original red wines with character.
It is ideal as a base wine for red Sangria. Grilled meats marinated in spices or duck breast, lamb.
