Description

Gros Plant du Pays Nantais is a dry, tart white wine produced in the Pays Nantais, the wine-growing district surrounding the city of Nantes in the western Loire Valley. The appellation covers virtually the same geographical area as the region’s main appellation, Muscadet, with a little more land to the west, near the Atlantic coast, and losing a few communes further inland to the east.

It should be drunk young, but will retain its freshness and character for at least 2-3 years.
Its lemony aromas, its frank and lively character on the palate.

Grape variety: Folle Blanche
Soil: Silt, schist subsoil
Colour: very light yellow with greyish highlights
Nose: lively and straightforward with harmonious freshness, citrus notes, good length on the palate.
Cellaring potential: 2 years or more
Serving temperature: Serve chilled at 8°-10°C.
Dining and wine pairing:
Seafood platter, matured oysters from Vendée or Brittany, fish rillettes with crayfish, mussel salad with salicornia, shellfish, grilled sardines, goat’s cheese such as Sainte Maure de Touraine or Crottin de Chavignol.
