COTEAU DU LAYON “ARPÈGE” DOMAINE LEDUC FROUIN 2023

15,00  incl. VAT

Based in the troglodyte village of Martigné-Briand, Antoine Leduc, an oenologist, and his sister Nathalie have been running the family estate (30 hectares under sustainable agriculture) since 1990. Their wines are kept, as they should be, in the coolness of underground cellars dug into the falun. A sure bet in the Anjou wine region.

Description

Tasting: This seductive Coteaux du Layon with fruity notes is made from a manual harvest of golden and raisined bunches of Chenin.
Enjoy its exotic flavours: pineapple, mangoes, quinces.
It can be considered with spiced prawns or an apricot
tart To be enjoyed from aperitif to dessert. We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of between 10°C and 12°C.
Terroir: “Le Grand Clos”, Sousigné village, Soil and subsoil: talc schist and gravel on phtanite. Grape variety: Chenin
Harvest: The manual harvest was done in mid-November 2015. The bunches selected during the different passages are golden, botrytised and overripe.
Winemaking: Transported in small tanks, the bunches arrive intact at the cellar to be poured into a pneumatic press. A long (about 10 hours) and delicate pressing begins. Then static settling takes place, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats and ageing. Finally, the bottling took place in March 2016, at the Domaine.
This beautiful Layon is fresh and balanced, with white and citrus fruits, in a supple and pleasant register. It can be considered with spiced prawns or an apricot tart
