Domaine Rougeyron is located in the Auvergne region, 10 kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand, on the edge of the village of Châteaugay near Volvic. The Rougeyron family is part of Châteaugay’s heritage. In a cellar carved into the rock, under the hillside of La Crouzette, Roland Rougeyron makes his wines of the Côtes d’Auvergne Châteaugay appellation.
20 hectares of vines facing south and east, planted at an altitude of 400 metres on soils composed of scree and volcanic ash on a limestone bedrock. Some are between 50 and 80 years old.
The harvest is manual. The wines are matured in stainless steel vats or oak barrels for certain cuvées.

wine, whose natural strength can reach 13 or 14°, is served chilled (10°C) as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to refined starters: foie gras, fish fillets, smoked salmon.
Tarragon highlights this excellent wine.
It goes more easily with quiches and savory pies, fish in sauce, smoked and grilled fish.
It is a wine that is drunk young.
