ANJOU RED THE CHERRY ORCHARD ESTATE LA BERGERIE
15,00 € incl. VAT
The Domaine de la Bergerie, bought in 1961, has seen 8 generations of the Guégniard family to date. This family farm has been run since 2018 by Anne and Marie. Each of their plots is vinified and then aged separately in order to preserve the authenticity and expression of the terroir as much as possible. The vineyard now covers 36 hectares on the terroirs of Anjou and has been certified Organic since the 2016 vintage.
This Anjou “La Cerisaie” is composed of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon whose vines are located in the commune of Champ-sur-Layon. The harvest is done manually.

WINEMAKING
In order to promote the fruit, little extraction is carried out; maceration lasts 8 to 10 days. Once fermentation is done, the pomace is isolated to keep only the free-run juice that makes up the entire cuvée of “La Cerisaie”.
The ageing is 100% carried out in vats for 9 months.
TASTING NOTES
All the stages of winemaking are carried out with a single goal: to give priority to the fruit. Something that is easily found when tasting. This supple and fruity cuvée (small red fruits) is a good way to discover the varietal notes of a rather charming Cabernet Franc.
It is the perfect accompaniment to the lightness and indulgence of joyful moments such as the Sunday Roast Chicken.
OUR ADVICE
We recommend a serving temperature of around 14°C. It can be tasted now, or in the next five years.
