14,50 € incl. VAT
Domaine Rougeyron is located in the Auvergne region, 10 kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand, on the edge of the village of Châteaugay near Volvic. The Rougeyron family is part of Châteaugay’s heritage. In a cellar carved into the rock, under the hillside of La Crouzette, Roland Rougeyron makes his wines of the Côtes d’Auvergne Châteaugay appellation.
20 hectares of vines facing south and east, planted at an altitude of 400 metres on soils composed of scree and volcanic ash on a limestone bedrock. Some are between 50 and 80 years old.
The harvest is manual. The wines are matured in stainless steel vats or oak barrels for certain cuvées.

Made from 80-year-old vines, this Côtes d’Auvergne is a pure Gamay. Generous, with hints of spice and caramelized fruit, it has a long finish. It’s not for nothing that it has won medals at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris for 4 consecutive years. David, a child of the vineyards, has taken over the family estate, preserving the historic production methods. Its Côtes de Châteaugay wines cater for all tastes (amateurs and connoisseurs alike), with medal-winning vintages in all colours. Break the rules and match your dishes with the colour of the wine you like. The wedding is surprising, but above all it’s ideal for enjoying with family or friends.
