Located in Esvres, Touraine, Bernard and Michel Rousseau farm 19 hectares of vines, mainly in the Touraine Noble Joué appellation. La culture du vignoble suit le principe de la culture raisonnée. The clay-limestone or sandy-siliceous soils make this an ideal terroir for the balance and expression of Pinot.

Description

Description: Pinot Beurot is the old name for Pinot gris in Burgundy because of the grey colour of the grape resembling monks’ bure, hence the name Beurot.
Terroir: Clay and silica.
Parcels: Les Beauregards.
Grape: variety Pinot Gris
Vinification: Pressed directly, the grape juice is transferred to barrels in the cellar, where it will remain for 11 months, during which time it undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
Batonage every week, aged without added sulfur.
2-wine barrels so as not to influence the aromas of this grape variety.
Bottled in September, 1 year after harvest, with a small dose of sulfur to preserve it.
Tasting notes: Powerful, aromatic and full-bodied.
Food and wine pairings: fish in sauce, poultry.
