In the heart of the Saumur-Champigny region, you’ll discover the Domaine des Champs Fleuris in Turquant, a small listed village with 600 inhabitants, with the vines at the top and the “troglos”, as they’re called here, carved into the tufa slopes. Pink in colour with violet highlights, the nose is rich with floral aromas of wild berries: raspberry, redcurrant… On the palate, the fruit flavours return beautifully.

Description
Grape varieties: 100% Cabernet Franc
Age: 30 on average, 70 for the oldest
Management system : Grass is planted to control vigour, and thinning regulates the yield per vine stock.
Harvest: Total harvest of very fruity grapes (choice of plots) (Degree of harvest ranging from 12 to 13 %vol, total acidity around 4.5)
Vinification: Maceration for 12 to 24 hours, then direct pressing without crushing or destemming, static settling at low temperature. Vinification is thermo-regulated until a tender wine is obtained.
To the eye: Orange-pink color with violet highlights.
Nose: Very richly aromatic, with floral notes but above all very fresh fruit: strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants.
Palate: all the fruit is present, with good persistence.
Wine and food pairing : As an aperitif, or throughout a summer meal, serve well chilled.
