Domaine de la Bergerie is a Loire vineyard located in the Anjou region, at the eastern end of the Armorican Massif.

Set on the schist bedrock of Anjou Noir, our 36-hectare vineyard benefits from a variety of soils and a mild oceanic influence that allows us to explore all the facets of Chenin, Cabernet and Grolleau. It is an environment conducive to the full expression of the wines.
We invite you to the Domaine to discover all the riches of our vineyard:

  • Our dry white wines: Anjou and Savennières.
  • Our sweet wines: Coteaux du Layon, Coteaux du Layon Rablay, Coteaux du Layon Premier Cru Chaume and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru.

Description

The magic of this encounter is fully apparent in this “Rablay”, which is both incredibly concentrated and incredibly fine. Of course, tasting this elixir today is something of a sacrilege, as it deserves to be cellared for at least 8 years before reaching its full potential…
Grape variety: Chenin 100%.
Terroir: Anjou sand and gravel on schist alteration
Exposition: south, south-east
Geographical location: commune of Rablay-sur-Layon
Harvesting: By hand and by selection. Search for over-ripeness through noble rot. Very slow pressing and light settling. Slow fermentation to continue to harmoniously enhance aromatic expression. Matured for one year in temperature-controlled vats.
Cellaring potential: 10 to 15 years.
Tasting notes: Golden yellow colour. Open nose, with aromas of Williams pears and exotic fruits. Round and suave on the palate, with a lovely balance of finesse and freshness.

Aperitif, toast with blue cheese from Auvergne, mini brioche foie gras and mango chutney, squabs with grapes, pear and blackcurrant
