LES AUBUIS MOELLEUX 2018 JEAN-MARC GILET DOMAINE ROULETIERE
18,40 € incl. VAT
Domaine de la Rouletière is located on a clay-limestone hillside in the commune of Parçay-Meslay, near Tours, on the right bank of the Loire. The cellar is exceptional: 800m long on 2 levels dug into the tufeau It was here that the village’s very first Vouvray brut was created. Today, Jean-Marc and his wife Théodora manage the estate with passion. They have the same desire: that of a cleaner agriculture that makes them contributors to the protection of the environment and the preservation of the planet. 27 hectares on a planetary scale is not much, but it’s important! Organic viticulture means a lot of work, much more than before, but they are proud to offer wines that are more natural and of a high quality.
This cuvée comes from clay-limestone soil, and the grapes are harvested when perfectly ripe and selected. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The slow maturation of the wines on their fermentation lees gives them their excellent quality.
12 in stock (can be backordered)
This cuvée was selected by sorting from the finest hillsides with clay-limestone soil (an amalgam of shells and clay). At harvest time, grapes of excellent ripeness are picked with the greatest care. A very slow pressing process extracts the best juice from the pulp. Fermentation in oak barrels at 15-18°C and the slow maturation of the wines on their lees provide all the conditions for excellent quality.
Deep yellow colour with light orange highlights.
Nose: Exotic at first, it evolves with successive aromatic touches, moving from white fruit (pears, nectarines) to more candied notes of fig and mango. On aeration, the minerality comes through.
Palate: Very rich and unctuous on the attack, the palate evolves on spices and very ripe exotic fruit (mango, pineapple). The acidity reinforces the freshness of the whole and leaves a light palate.
Exotic fruit Tarte Tatin with salted butter caramel.
